    Description

Hano Clown Kachina Felix Begay - Dallas cowboys Football Player. Famous Kachina artist has his player holding a football & wearing Nike shoes.
Also included are the artist's classic leg ties and waist tie.
He is sporting rabbitt hair (looks like one head tie has been replaced), a red necktie and a pouch with something inside around his neck. More classic Felix!
Beautifully done with joy and whimsy. An all time Felix Begay piece! I have not seen a Hano like this ,so it could be a custom piece. Signed F. Begay on the bottom
Kachina is in good condition but has cracks at the ankles and may need to be glued legs to feet.
From Wiki: The clowns perform during the spring and summer fertility rites. Among the Hopi there are five figures who serve as clowns: the Payakyamu; the Koshare (or Koyaala or Hano clown); the Tsuku; the Tatsiqto (or Koyemsi or Mudhead); and the Kwikwilyak.[1] With the exception of the Koshare, each is a katsinam (personification of a spirit). It is believed that when a member of a kiva dons the mask of a katsinam, he abandons his personality and becomes possessed by that spirit
